February 9: Hai la gradinita! grants for the 2018-2019 school year

OvidiuRo has launched the second edition of Hai la gradinita! grants. The school directors can apply by March 30, by filling in an on-line application form provided by OvidiuRo. The project is financed, for the second year in a row, by NN Romania, and it aims to support local teams in the poorest communities in Romania to enroll all the children age 3 – 5 in their community in kindergarten, by finding ways to add an additional group of children to their current kindergarten composition.

Each of the 20 selected communities will receive a package consisting in € 1200, and an educational kit for the new class, provided by OvidiuRo.

Selection criteria for getting a Hai la gradinita! grant:

(1) A community has to have at least 15 disadvantaged children who were not already registered for kindergarten
(2) The school director has to obtain approval from the county school inspectorate to form a new group.

Hai la grădiniță! for the 2018-2019 school year is targeting disadvantaged communities, nationwide.

Hai la grădiniță! for the 2017-2018 school year offered grants to 12 communities in 10 counties: Alba, Botoșani, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Ialomița, Iași, Vaslui, Vâlcea și Vrancea, encouraging local teams to create places in gradinita for over 200 poor rural children.
