Pro TV: OvidiuRo provides glasses for the poorest children of Romania

For the poorest children of Romania that need glasses, like Adriana (5 years old, video), a visit to the doctor’s office could mean spending the family’s monthly income. Therefore the parents can’t afford to take them to be examined and the issues only get worse. All over the country, hundreds of kids have medical problems that remain untreated.
In order to prevent this, OvidiuRo and GSK Romania created a health component for the “Fiecare Copil in Gradinita” program that provides annual medical tests and health checks (especially where children live far from medical cabinets), vaccination campaigns, facilitating the health mediator’s activity, helping doctors visit weekly families in isolated communities, health education, and family planning; with just one conditions, the children need to attend kindergarten every day.

Because “Fiecare copil in gradinita” doubled the attendance rates for preschool education, OvidiuRo is currently working on exanding and turning it into a public policy.
