February 1 – 4: OvidiuRo Master Teachers Annual Meeting in Sibiu

At the beginning of February, around 50 preschool teachers participated, in Sibiu, in OvidiuRo’s annual meeting. This 3-days national meeting aimed to bring together all the teachers around the country who volunteered to bring quality early education closer to children, and teachers in poor rural and urban kindergartens.

The workshops focused on :
– Literacy (with Carmen Ivanov, a Romanian orthoepy specialist as a trainer) and good nutrition (with Dr Mihaela Bilic, a well known nutritionist
– Designing the 2019 Sotron Summer Programs,
– Preparing the literacy program in 30 counties, and
– Learnings from the 2018 projects.

In 2019, OvidiuRo will continue to work closely with local authorities and preschool teachers all over the country, by organising local teacher trainings and providing quality educational materials to be used in rural kindergartens. Our objective is to raise the quality of early education throughout Romania’s most disadvantaged communities by implementing A Story for Every Child pilot program, that aims to improve children’s vocabulary by enhancing the kindergarten and home literacy environment in rural communities.
