Every Ambassador in Kindergarten!

On May 20, German Ambassador Werner Hans Lauk visited Fiecare Copil in Gradinita program in Tarnava, Sibiu County. First stop: Gradinita – where, to everyone’s surprise, the children sang the European Union Anthem for their distinguished guest. Amb. Lauk said he was truly impressed with the attention the local authorities are giving to the early education and social integration of the community’s most vulnerable children.

After visiting two FCG families in their homes, Ambassador Lauk and OvidiuRo’s Leslie Hawke met with Sibiu County authorities to advocate for extending the Fiecare Copil in Gradinita incentive mechanism throughout Sibiu County with public funds. In its press release, the County Council reported that the German diplomat appreciated Sibiu as an example in terms of integration of disadvantaged groups and access to public services, and that he is honoured to support OvidiuRo’s mission to make quality early education available to all children in Romania.
