Pro TV: OvidiuRo sends every child to kindergarten. 40 volunteer doctors examined children from a Sibiu village

The classrooms in Nou village were transformed into medical examination rooms for a couple of days last week. Twenty seven medical school students from the Carol Davila University of Bucharest , accompanied by 12 medical specialists, offered free consultations to the people in the village in pediatrics, cardiology, internal medicine, radiology, rheumatology, ophthalmology and laboratory medicine. 150 adults and 90 children were examined by the medical team.
Patients had a general checkup and depending on the results. Went to a specialist to receive medication, EKGs and ultrasounds. A group of women from the village attended STD prevention classes and the children participated in a workshop about personal hygiene.
The medical caravan is part of the Fiecare Copil in Gradinita “Heatlh Component” founded by partner GlaxoSmithKline.
The volunteers are members of The Bucharest Medical Students’ Society which initiated the project “Together for Rural Health”(Impreuna pentru Sanatatea Rurala ). So far, the caravan has brought medical assistance to 24 Romanian villages where the poor have difficulty accessing health services.
