Doinita Hiliteanu 

Doinita is the widowed mother of eight children. Two years ago, Doinita was begging with her children in front of St. Nicolai Church in Bacau.  They lived in a falling down shack near the river.  Sometimes she picked through garbage to feed her family. Often they were reduced to begging in order to eat. 

Doinita joined our first training group in August of 2001.  She started working for the city as a street cleaner that November.  She has worked ever since then.  Her work performance has been exemplary. Regardless of the weather or her other obligations, Doinita always shows up for work and does her job.    

Ready, Willing & Able helped Doinita access the city resources, and thanks to the efforts by the Primaria, Doinita now has a better place to live.  Her daughter, Maria,  is going to  school and the younger one started kindergarten in September.
